GA OL Returns From WFU Visit

6'6, 320 pound offensive lineman Daniel Blitch is one of Wake Forest's top lineman prospects in the class of 2010. DeaconSports caught up with Blitch this weekend following his visit to Wake Forest.

"I just visited [Wake Forest] yesterday," Daniel Blitch said Saturday afternoon. "We looked at the field, went up in the tower and saw the suites and saw the weight room. I met all the coaches and talked a lot about football. The coaches are really straight forward and good guys. I like them all a lot. They have really good facilities and the atmosphere. I really like it. My mom and dad both came up with me."

Wake Forest has offered Blitch a scholarship as are a host of other schools. "I am hearing from a lot of colleges. The offers now are from Wake Forest, Vandy, East Carolina, Marshall, and Liberty. Those are the five offers I have right now. I hear a lot from Georgia and Alabama. My #1 pick right now is Wake Forest."

As for a decision, Blitch is plans to make a decision in the near future. "I'm probably going to make a decision soon, in the next few weeks before the season starts," he said.

Although he plays both offensive and defensive line for his high school, Blitch is being recruited exclusively on the offensive line. "Left tackle," he said. "That's where everyone is recruiting me for. This year, schools also like that I've gotten a lot stronger. I have slimmed down but stayed the same weight, I've just been stronger. I feel like I've had a great summer and can't wait to get into hitting."

Blitch's North Hall High team will begin hitting in a couple of weeks followed by a scrimmage with Greater Atlanta Christian. North Hall's first game of the season is against Johnson High School.
