The Demon Deacons and Tigers are both in Davis' final three teams and the 6'5, 348-pound lineman plans to make his decision in short order. "My top three now are Clemson, Alabama, and Wake," he said.
"Clemson, I've been talking to them for as long as any. I know their system, background, and what they're trying to do with their program. I know the coaches well and a couple players already on the team. I'm just trying to see if it's the right fit."
"I've been to Alabama once and they have a great program. I like the coaches and with the new coach, he's trying to make sure they're good on and off the field. I know they have three offensive line commitments and are taking just one more so I'm not sure about the situation there."
"Wake Forest – I'm really cool with all their coaches too. I talk to Coach Lobo and Henry and a couple others and I believe they're trying to get me down there because they believe I can help the program. I really like what I've seen there and want to look into their school again this Thursday. I'm going to meet the rest of the coaches and see the campus and meet a professor. At Clemson I'm going to meet the coaches and [go on the] tour."
At this point, Davis says that he has no plans to commit on the visits but does plan to decide next week. "Right now I'm not sure yet," Davis said when asked what day he plans to commit. "I want to get to both visits and see how it looks after I take both visits. I am really planning on committing next week but it could always move back depending on the visits and any other teams who might jump in before then."
While Davis is open to Wake, Clemson, and Alabama among others, Clemson is the current favorite. "Right now, Clemson is my #1," he said. "Probably Wake at #2 because I like them and I'm not sure about the commitment status at Alabama."
