Woods Ready To Sign With WFU

Florida athlete Travo Woods confirmed this past week that he will sign with Wake Forest on signing day as expected. In our latest interview, Woods talks with DeaconSports about his reasons for choosing Wake Forest, his recruitment, and his academic standing.

Wake Forest verbal commit Travo Woods still plans on being a Demon Deacon come signing day. DeaconSports spoke with Woods this past week and the Florida athlete expressed his excitement about officially joining the Wake Forest football program in February.

"I'm still committed to Wake," Woods said. "It was the best choice as far as education and it's ACC football. I had a great visit when I went up to Winston-Salem so I knew it was the place for me. I'm ready to sign the papers."

Woods, a prime-time athlete that could play either running back or wide receiver at Wake Forest, told DeaconSports that he had several scholarship offers before deciding on Wake Forest. "Central Florida, South Florida, Iowa State, Hofstra, and Illinois State were some of them," Woods said.

While Woods is yet to qualify, he is expected to in the near future. "I have to wait until I get my SATs," Woods said. "I'll be fine."
