Boatright Claims WFU Offer

It's no secret Wake Forest is looking to add a point guard in 2011. Ryan Boatright, an explosive lead guard out of Illinois, is the latest to claim a WFU offer. DeaconSports spoke with Boatright about his season and his interest level in Wake Forest.

Ryan Boatright can do it all on the basketball court. He has great quickness and handles, a solid jumper, and knows how to run the show. He is off to a great start this season for Aurora East High School.

"The season is going pretty good," says Boatright. "We are playing together much better as a team and I think I have taken my game to a new level this season." Boatright is currently putting up 22 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per contest.

Boatright says it's his quickness and athleticism that separates him from some of the other point guards. "I use my quickness to my advantage. I also have a lot of endurance and I'm able to jump a lot higher than most guys my size."

As far as recruiting goes, Boatright has plenty of Division I options. "A few of my offers right now are Wake Forest, Miami, and Tennessee. I am hearing a lot from Kentucky, Florida State, Depaul, Kansas State, and others. I am really interested in Kentucky."

What does Boatright think of Wake Forest? "I like them. I have been watching them on TV some lately. I like their style and how the coach let's their point guard make plays."

Boatright plans to wait awhile before making a college choice. "I will probably wait until the last minute. It will be sometime next year. I want to take all of my visits."
