Brown Wrapping Up A Busy Week

Findlay Prep shooting guard Jabari Brown has had a busy week, capped off with the City of Palms Tournament in Ft. Myers, Florida. After scoring 24 points in a blowout win against Dunbar, Brown had 12 in a 78-47 win over De La Salle on Tuesday. The Nevada product recently took some time to sit down with DeaconSports about where he is in his recruitment.

DeaconSports: How have things been going?
Jabari Brown: I think they've been going pretty well. The team is winning which is definitely our goal, but individually I'd say I've done a good job.

DS: What would you say your strengths are? What do you need to work on?
JB: My strengths are scoring the ball and playing with my teammates, but I definitely want to work on my rebounding and defense.

DS: Who do you model your game after?
JB: I'd say Joe Johnson. I like him a lot.

DS: Where have you visited so far?
JB: I haven't been too many places. I've been up to Cal, UNLV and Stanford, but I really haven't had the chance to take a lot of visits.

DS: Where are you looking to take your officials?
JB: I want to take a visit to Washington, Arizona and Wake Forest this summer.

DS: What do you think of Wake overall?
JB: I think they have a really good program out there. I've talked to Coach Gaudio a few times and Coach Wojcik a lot. I definitely think they're a good team with a great coaching staff.

DS: How much does academics play into your decision?
JB: It's a part but not a big part. I feel like you can get a good education anywhere if you put your mind to it.

DS: Is location a factor at all?
JB: I'm fine with going anywhere; I just want the best personal fit for me.

DS: Do you have a timeframe for when you might decide?
JB: I'm not sure yet. I want to take my visits next year unless I've found the right situation before that time.

DS: Do you have any leaders?
JB: I have no leaders right now. I'm honestly pretty wide open.
