DeaconSports: How has the transition been back to E.O. Smith High School?
Tyler Olander: "It has been going really well so far. Everyone has been very welcoming and it has been an easy transition. We are playing really well together so far."
DS: How would you describe your style of play?
TO: "I'm a 4 man who can step out. I can shoot the three, take guys off the dribble, and also play down low. I also like to get my teammates involved. I would say I am an unselfish player that puts the team first."
DS: UConn, Wake Forest, and Florida make up your top 3. What do you like about Wake?
TO: "I really like Coach Gaudio. He has watched me play a few times and is a really good guy. I also like their style of play. One of my friends is going to be a freshman this year on Wake's baseball team. He has been down there for visits and has told me how great it is."
DS: Some people think you are a strong UConn lean since you live so close to them. What do you say about that?
TO: "Growing up around UConn they would be hard to turn down but it is about finding the right fit for me. I like all of my top 3 and want to find the place that fits me best."
Olander also mentioned that he hoped to make visits to both Florida and Wake Forest after his high school season concludes.
