"Chase came out and played for us as a sophomore and it was the first time he'd played football competitively," Coach Gary Merrill of Northern Durham said. "He started the last five games of the season his sophomore year and then started his junior year with us."
Is Chase a big-time Division-I player?
"He's definitely that," Coach Merrill said. "And right now he's getting a lot of interest from Virginia, North Carolina, and Wake Forest. He's really got lots of potential."
Merrill, who said that Bullock is a great athlete with "around 4.6" 40 speed, noted that Bullock reminds him a lot of former Northern Durham star James Adams, a player who currently attends Wake Forest.
"James and Chase are a lot alike in that they both got started playing football late," Merrill said. "They're not alike in their play as Chase is a bigger guy than James and James was more of an athlete, but both are very good players."
