Noble High On Wake's Board

Wake Forest made in-state corner Dominique Noble a priority early in the process and they are still very high on him. DeaconSports spoke with Noble this week to discuss his recruitment.

The Demon Deacons have been staying in regular contact with Dominique Noble over the past several months. While the Demon Deacons would have to fend off some serious competition in order to gain a commitment later this year or early next year, they appear to have positioned themselves well.

"I actually plan on calling them between eight and ten o'clock tonight," Noble said of Wake Forest during an interview earlier this week.

"The last time I talked to Coach (Brian) Knorr was about two weeks ago. I still like Wake a lot. I want to get back down there again soon. It seems like every time I go down there I have a good time and see new things. I definitely want to get back there."

Wake Forest isn't the only school Noble will be visiting, though. This coming weekend he will be at Georgia Tech on and later in the summer he plans on visiting Notre Dame and North Carolina.

The Irish are relative newcomers when it comes to the race for Noble, but as any college football fan knows, Notre Dame carries a lot of weight because of the school's rich tradition and academic prestige.

"They're real close to offering me right now," Noble said of Notre Dame. "My coach told me they've been talking to him and they've said they like me. That's been real good.

"Who wouldn't be interested (in Notre Dame)? As big as that sports is with sports and academics, it's crazy. I'd have to look into that."

Noble said he would not commit right away if the Irish were to offer him as he knows very little about the school aside from what most casual fans know. He plans on researching all of the schools that offer him before he makes a decision so his choice can be an educated one.

He left open the possibility of making a decision before he takes official visits but did not say he was leaning towards making an early or late decision.
