Florida DE, Wake Have Mutual Interest

Not too long ago Wake Forest sent an official written offer to Florida defensive end Godspower Offor.

The Demon Deacons had verbally offered Godspower Offor a long time ago, but the 6-3, 220-pound prospect estimates that it wasn't until around the last week in March before Wake Forest sent the written offer in.

Despite the fact that he resides in Florida, Wake Forest is a school that had been on Offor's mind for a long time. That could play in Wake's favor as we move ahead.

"I've called them and they came to one of my practices," Offor said, referring to Wake Forest. "I had called coach Mac (Ray McCartney) last week, I think, or a few days ago. They're recruiting me as a defensive end but they're also recruiting me as an outside linebacker. Right now defensive end is the position I love but playing outside linebacker and coming on the blitz could be fun too.

"I researched the school (Wake Forest) a while ago and saw some interesting things on them. I've liked Wake Forest for a long time. I used to like playing with them on (EA Sports') NCAA Football (video game), so when I heard Wake Forest was interested it's not like I hadn't heard of them.

"Actually me and Coach Mac are trying to work out a plan for me to come to Wake Forest this summer. I'm also trying to go to a Rutgers' camp."

Offor said he is not going to rush into a decision. He will take some official visits and do as much research as he can.

In all he has received offers from Wake Forest, Maryland, Duke, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Harvard. Not surprisingly, some of those schools are among his favorites.

"Actually I would say my seven favorites are Harvard, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Maryland, Duke, Wisconsin and Cincinnati."
