"I went to the UNC camp but that's about it," Underwood said. "I haven't started visiting schools yet. It was pretty good for a visit as far as everything goes. I got to see their facilities. I talked to the coaches and kind of connected with them."
North Carolina has done a good job of building a relationship with Underwood thus far, but so have Wake Forest and Penn State. In fact, that's the one major factor that has caused Underwood to place those schools at the top of his list.
"Basically, they're the (three) teams that I have the best relationship with as far as their coaches that are recruiting my area," he stated.
This recruiting battle, however, is far from over. Underwood said he plans on visiting "at least" all of the major colleges in North Carolina, which means he could be on the road a good bit in the coming weeks, even if he doesn't have to travel far from home. Wake Forest is one of the schools Underwood is looking forward to seeing.
"I haven't talked to any Wake Forest coaches lately but I feel like it's my job to start calling colleges and that's probably the first school I'll call," he said. "The last time I visited (Wake Forest) was for their junior day when they played UNC. I really liked it. They emphasized flexibility and that's one thing I feel like I need to improve on, so that was good."
Underwood said he will also probably take a trip to NC State before too long.
