SC LB Holds Wake Offer

South Carolina linebacker Mike Rose has all of the physical skills a college coach could want in someone at the position. His 6-3, 215-pound frame is impressive to coaches as it will be able to carry more weight without losing speed. That speed is what makes Rose such an attractive prospect and it is what helps him wreak such havoc in offensive backfields.

Wake Forest offered Mike Rose a scholarship during his junior season, and the Simpsonville (SC) Hillcrest prospect will be visiting the Demon Deacons sometime in the next month.

"I've got a real good relationship with them," Rose said of Wake Forest. "I talk to Coach Keith (Henry) through e-mail. He seems like he's a nice guy. I just need to get up there and check it out to see what I like about it."

Even if Rose has a great time on campus it is unlikely that he will be making a decision any time soon. He wants to wait things out until the fall to make sure he knows what all his options are before he ends his recruitment. He will also probably visit NC State while he is in North Carolina visiting Wake Forest.

"Everything [is] open," Rose insisted. "Anything can still happen. I'm looking for the school where I feel comfortable. That's the biggest thing for me. If I don't feel comfortable somewhere I can't go there."

Rose has said NC State and West Virginia are recruiting him as a defensive end, and that could hurt their chances, as Rose thinks his best position at the next level is outside linebacker.
