"Wake Forest offered me after one of their one day camps this past Sunday," Brandon Pittman explained. "Coach Russ had come up to Leesville during school and he was interested. That's what he told my coach. He really wanted to see me at camp.
"We were supposed to go to one of their 7-on-7s but we couldn't make it. We went to the one day camp instead. They immediately knew who I was and I impressed them. They had me at outside linebacker the whole time."
While the Deacons were impressed with Pittman the interest is clearly mutual. Pittman loves the coaching staff, especially coach Russ, and he will be making a return trip soon.
"I love Coach Russ," he continued. "He's a great guy to talk to. I was really happy and pleased with how impressed they were with me. Wake Forest is a beautiful school. My family plans on taking a visit sometime this week or this weekend to see a little more of it. All I saw was the cafeteria and the field. I'm going to meet with the head coach and coach Russ a little more."
When asked whether there is a chance he might commit while he is in town Pittman responded, "Yeah, there is a chance."
However, he followed that up by saying he does not currently have any favorites. He has been pretty busy this summer and is probably done with camps. He is hoping to make his decision before the start of his senior year at Leesville Road, so that means his choice should come soon.
He also attended North Carolina's 7-on-7 on Friday to see how much interest the Tar Heels have in him.
