|Turned in a spectacular 2013 senior season, leading the Pac-12 in tackles and the nation in solo tackles. Earned a plethora of All-America recognition: Associated Press first team; Athlon Sports first team; Walter Camp second team; CBS Sports third team; and Sports Illustrated honorable mention. In earning AP first-team honors, he joins a rarefied fraternity of Washington State defensive backs to be so honored; the others were Clancy Williams in 1964 and Lamont Thompson in 2001.|
Nose for the ball and likes to hit, he earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors as a junior in 2012; led WSU in total tackles with 106, and had 4 INTs. His 106 tackles was the most in one season by a Cougar since James Darling's 136 in 1996. NFL observers believe he'll be one of the top 10 safety prospects in the 2014 draft.
As a sophomore in 2011 he was second on the team in tackles with 80, and added 3 INTs.
Burst onto the scene as a true freshman at WSU in 2010, leading the team in tackles with 84 and being named defensive player of the year. As a prep senior, was a two-way standout who caught 20 passes for 264 yards while posting 107 total tackles, 4 sacks and 2 INTs en route to earning all-league, all-city, all-region and Cal-Hi All-State honors. Named his league’s defensive player of the year in 2008 and 2009. As a prep junior he posted 140 total tackles. Chose WSU over Army, Nevada and San Diego State.
