NEWSLINE: Old Coug LB molding prep stars

GRADY EMMERSON, the old Cougar walk on from Kennewick who became a starting linebacker, is imparting his grit and determination on a Ferris High defense that looks hellbent on making a return trip to the state Class 4A championship game. "The Grady Bunch," as the Spokesman-Review notes, includes the son of another old Cougar standout, Paul Sorensen.

Emmerson's Ferris defense is stout throughout, but his secondary of Cody Sorensen, Riley Stockton, Jordan Tonani and Beau Bozett is downright superb.

All four figure to be playing college ball -- football or otherwise -- next year. Sorensen has been invited to walk on at WSU and has offers from smaller schools. Tonani has offers from small schools as well. Stockton has offers to play basketball and thinks some football may be coming too. Bozett figures to play baseball at the next level.
