Although Coleman is the lone Cougar slated to continue his season thus far, as many as five more Wazzu alums could have their seasons extended well into January.
Jerome Harrison would seem the safest bet, as his Philadelphia Eagles are in pole-position of the NFC East. Chris Ivory and the New Orleans Saints trail the Falcons by two games in the NFC South, but look to be a sure thing for a wildcard slot.
Not as certain is the fate of Jacksonville's Jason Hill and Tyron Brackenridge. Although the Jags are knotted with Indianapolis for first place of the AFC South at 8-6, the Colts hold the tie-breaker should both squads win their remaining two games. A second place finish in their division likely won't merit a wildcard berth.
And as incredible as it may seem, either St. Louis's Brandon Gibson or Seattle's Marcus Trufant will probably be suiting up for the playoffs. Typically a 6-8 record—the Rams and Seahawks current records—wouldn't inspire dreams of post-season glory, but this season in the lowly NFC West it means first place.
