NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 17

ONCE AGAIN, Philadelphia's Jerome Harrison made the most of the opportunity to show off his talent running the ball. With feature back LeSean McCoy resting for the playoffs, Harrison gained 99 yards on 21 carries in the Eagles' loss to Dallas on Sunday.

It was the most action Harrison, a.k.a. "The Ghost," has seen since running the ball 11 times for 109 yards for Philly back in week 10. The Wazzu great has averaged nearly 6 yards per carry over 8 games since being traded to the Eagles from Cleveland earlier this season.

While Harrison's season continues into the post-season, two other Cougar alums — Jacksonville's Tyron Brackenridge and Jason Hill — saw their playoff hopes quashed by the Houston Texans on Sunday. Similarly, Brandon Gibson's campaign came to a halt when St. Louis fell to Seattle.

Gibson's heartache, of course, meant good news for Seattle's Marcus Trufant, with the Seahawk victory clinching the NFC West title and marking the first time in NFL history a team has captured a division title with a losing record. The Hawks are 7-9 and will now host the Saints in the playoffs.

Harrison and Trufant join Atlanta's Erik Coleman and New Orleans' Chris Ivory as the only Washington State alums suiting up for the post-season.
