Cougs' Wilson named to Biletnikoff Watchlist

WASHINGTON STATE wide receiver Marquess Wilson has been named to the 2011 Fred Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List, WSU announced The award is presented each year to the nation's most outstanding receiver.

Wilson, a second-year sophomore from Tulare, Calif., made a name for himself last year as a true freshman.

He was voted All-Pac-10 honorable mention after catching 55 passes for 1,006 yards and six touchdowns. He also , was selected first-team Freshman All-America by Sporting News, and Phil Steele.

Brandon Gibson was the last Cougar to be named to the preseason Biletnikoff watchlist, appearing on the 2008 list. Earlier this summer, Wilson received preseason All-Pac-12 honors by Lindy's Magazine, Phil Steele magazine and Athlon Sports magazine.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented to the nation's most outstanding receiver by The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The award is named after Fred Biletnikoff, a former All-American at Florida State and member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. The winner will be announced Dec. 8.

Fall camp at WSU begins on Aug. 7. The Cougars open the 2011 season hosting Idaho State on Sept. 3 at Martin Stadium.
