NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Two

COUGAR GREAT Husain Abdullah posted his first interception of the season, but it wasn't enough to pull his Minnesota Vikings out of the ranks of the winless. Elsewhere in the NFC North, Jason Hanson helped the Detroit Lions stay undefeated and kicked his way to a couple of additional milestones in the process.

Here's how NFL Cougars performed in week two:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Arizona, 7th season: No recorded stats in the Cardinals' 22-21 loss to Washington.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 4th season: Returned an interception 32 yards and made 6 solo tackles in the Vikings' 24-20 loss to Tampa Bay.

Erik Coleman, S, Detroit, 8th season: No recorded stats for the Spokane native in Detroit's 48-3 shakedown of Kansas City.

Jed Collins, FB, New Orleans, 3rd season :No recorded stats in the Saints' 30-13 win against Chicago.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 5th season: No recorded stats in the Vikings' loss to the Buccaneers. He was fined $15,000 by the NFL for a horse-collar tackle he made in week one.

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, 3rd season: The Puyallup native caught four passes for 52 yards in the Rams' 28-16 Monday night loss to the Giants.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 20th season: The Spokane native was perfect on two field goal tries (long of 51 yards), 6 extra-points, and assisted on a special teams tackle in the Lions' drubbing of Kansas City. It was his 297th game with the Lions, giving him the NFL record for most games by a player with one franchise. He also became just the seventh player in NFL history to score over 1,900 points.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Detroit, 6th season: Carried the ball four times for 6 yards in the Lions' defeat of the Chiefs.

Jason Hill, WR, Jacksonville, 5th season :Declared inactive (hip flexor) in the Jaguars' 32-3 fall to the Jets.

Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans, 2nd season :Did not play; on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to a slow recovery from off-season foot and sports hernia surgery.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 12th season: The Vancouver, Wash. native connected on a 25-yard field goal, had another try blocked, and hit on all 5 extra-points in the Bills' 38-35 defeat of Oakland.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 3rd season: No recorded stats from the Jets' 32-3 victory against Jacksonville. Signed a one-year contract extension for $1.3 million with the club, last week.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 9th season: The Tacoma native tallied six tackles (5 solo) in the Seahawks' 24-0 loss to Pittsburgh.

Zack Williams, G, Carolina, rookie: Did not play; on injured reserve (ACL).
