NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Six

WAZZU GREAT Jason Hanson missed his first field goal of the season — a 52-yard attempt — early in Detroit's contest with San Francisco on Sunday. While this rare event didn't turn out to be the difference in the game, it may have been an omen of the Lions' nine-game winning streak coming to end.

The Lions closed out the 2010 campaign with four straight Ws and had been perfect through five games this season. Detroit's 25-19 loss to the 49ers on Sunday leaves Green Bay as the lone remaining undefeated NFL team. The Lions had hoped to reach the 6-0 mark for the first time since 1956.

Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week six:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Arizona, 7th season: Did not play; bye week.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 4th season: Posted five solo tackles in the Vikings'39-10 loss to Chicago.

Erik Coleman, S, Detroit, 8th season: The Spokane native was placed on injured reserve (ankle) by the Lions' and will miss the remainder of the season.

Jed Collins, FB, New Orleans, 3rd season: Held scoreless for the first time in three weeks; rushed the ball once for 3 yards in the Saints' 26-20 loss to Tampa Bay.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 5th season: Tallied two special teams tackles in the Vikings' 39-10 fall to Chicago.

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, 3rd season: The Puyallup native caught four passes for 43 yards and ran the ball once for another 5 in the Rams' 24-3 loss to Green Bay.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 20th season: The Spokane native connected on two of 3 field goal attempts (long of 25) and an extra-point in the Lions' 25-19 fall to San Francisco. His missed field goal—from 52 yards—was his first miscue of the season.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Detroit, 6th season: Declared inactive for the Lions' loss to the 49ers.

Jason Hill, WR, Jacksonville, 5th season: Caught two passes for 29 yards, including an 18 yard touchdown reception, in the Jaguars' 17-13 loss to Pittsburgh. His consecutive scoring streak now stands at two games.

Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans, 2nd season: Did not play; on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to a slow recovery from off-season foot and sports hernia surgery. Reports indicate a possible week seven return.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 12th season: The Vancouver, Wash. native was true on three extra-point attempts and one field goal (from 49 yards) in the Bills' 27-24 loss to the New York Giants.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 3rd season: Declared inactive (knee) for the Jets' Monday night tilt with Miami.
