NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Sixteen

FOR THE FIRST time in eleven seasons Wazzu kicking great Jason Hanson will get a taste of post-season play, as his Detroit Lions secured a playoff spot with their 38-10 victory against San Diego, Sunday.

Hanson contributed to the victory with a 50-yard field goal and five extra-points. Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week 16:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Arizona, 7th season: No recorded stats from the Cardinals' 23-17 loss to Cincinnati.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 4th season: Did not play; placed on injured reserve (concussion) and out for the remainder of the season.

Erik Coleman, S, Detroit, 8th season: Did not play; out for the season on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Jed Collins, FB, New Orleans, 3rd season :No recorded stats from the Saints' 45-16 Monday night win against Atlanta.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 5th season: Posted three special teams tackles (2 solo) in the Vikings' 33-26 win against Washington.

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, 3rd season: The Puyallup native caught no passes in the Rams' 27-0 fall to Pittsburgh.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 20th season: The Spokane native connected on a 50-yard field goal and five extra-points in the Lions' 38-10 defeat of San Diego.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Detroit, 6th season: Did not play; placed on the club's reserve/non-football illness due to a brain tumor.

Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans, 2nd season :Gained 35 yards on 8 carries in the Saints' defeat of the Falcons.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 12th season:Did not play; out for the season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The Vancouver, Wash. native broke a bone in his shoulder making a touchdown-saving tackle on kick coverage in week nine.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 3rd season: Declared inactive (hand) for the Jets' 29-14 loss to the Giants.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 9th season: Did not play; out for the season on injured reserve (back).

Zack Williams, G, Carolina, rookie: Did not play; on injured reserve (ACL).
