4-star prospect has a leader

HE'S A 4-STAR prospect, with long strides and wide receiver playmaking ability to match. He's headed to Washington State later this month on an official visit. And his leader is crimson.

Gabriel Marks out of Los Angeles' Venice High is listed as a cornerback in Scout's database but he says he's full-on a wide receiver prospect at the next level. Like just about every school, Mike Leach and WSU like him on offense, he says, and he likes Wazzu right back.

"Washington State is my leader... They have a good program and Mike Leach is there now," said Marks.

Leach's offensive system is a dream for any wide receiver, and Marks is no exception.

"Washington State is in the Pac-12, and they're going to throw the ball a lot now that they have coach leach there. They get their receivers the ball," said Marks.

Marks will officially trip to Washington State on Jan. 13. He said he's being recruited hardest by WSU, and is hearing second most from Kentucky.

"I just want to see the (WSU) campus, get a feel for how everything is up there," said Marks, who said he could make his final decision in mid-January following his visit to the Palouse.
