The latest on future Coug OT Middleton

MIKE LEACH HAS shuffled up the Class of 2012 commit list since arriving at Washington State but he's kept five of the offensive line prospects who were committed. One of them is San Diego-area product Eduardo Middleton, a Top 100 offensive tackle and rated three stars. A recent report out there opined he suddenly might not be Wazzu-bound. We went to the source to find out...

An article on Friday said Eduardo Middleton, "committed to Washington State before the coaching change, and now his status is uncertain. UCLA is showing interest."

As it turns out, Middleton's status with WSU and Leach is anything but uncertain, he said.

"Oh yeah, I'm still committed to Washington State," Middleton told CF.C. "I've met with Coach Leach, and they want me. I can't wait until Signing Day!"

Middleton (6-5, 280) was named first team all-league this season and second team all-CIF on a 9-3-1 Oceanside squad. He was also named All-Academic for the second straight year. Middleton had a 3.86 GPA in a curriculum that included AP classes.

As a junior on an 11-win squad, Middleton was named All League, All Area and All San Diego Section.

Middleton held offers from Wazzu, Oregon State, Utah, Boise State and others at the time he verballed to the Cougars back in September.
