BREAKING: Mike Leach lands sought JUCO OG

FOR A TIME there, it sure looked like Niu Sale would wind up at another Pac-12 school. But that was before he officially tripped to Pullman and met Mike Leach. Today, the 6-3, 300-pound guard went crimson.

"I committed to Washington State," said Niu Sale. "When I took my trip out there, I just loved it."

Sale was highly sought this recruiting cycle, with offers from five Pac-12 schools -- Arizona, ASU, Oregon State, Utah and Washington State -- plus full rides from Auburn, Arkansas and K-State.

"I just knew that I would fit there at Washington State. I loved the coaching staff and everything about it."

Sale, out of Los Angeles Harbor JC, has three to play two at Wazzu. He'll line up at guard for the Cougars.

"They said I'd be a perfect fit in that offense at guard," said Sale. "The thing that I really liked was when I was talking with Mike Leach and found out that of all the players he's put in the NFL, the most have come from the offensive line. That was awesome."

SALE SAID LEACH and the Cougar coaches love his pass blocking but he's also going to be doing some road plowing at Washington State.

"I just loved the offense -- and you can't throw and be successful without the pass blocking. But they do run the ball, too, and I love to pull. I'll be doing that for them too," said Sale.

Sale was at one time committed to ASU and over the past several weeks, looked to be a re-commit to them. But the trip to the Palouse changed everything, he said. He won't be taking his official to ASU that was planned, and won't be going anywhere else either.

"I cant wait to be out there at Washington State and go win a Pac-12 title. That's what I'm coming there to do," said Sale.

Sale joins fellow LA Harbor teammate, RB Theron West, on the Cougs' commit list.
