Mike Leach offers 2013 Rancho Cucamonga pair

WASHINGTON STATE IS in the market for cornerbacks in the coming recruiting class after signing none this past Letter of Intent Day. A pair of junior defensive backs out of California are among those who have piqued Wazzu's interest in the 2013 cycle and hold early offers from Mike Leach.

CB Chris Hawkins (6-0, 170) is fast becoming one of the more sought corners in the West. His teammate at Rancho Cucamonga High, Tahaan Goodman, (6-2, 190), is probably a safety at the next level but he too has good hips and man coverage skills. And he's also seeing plenty of the recruiting love.

Each has been offered by Mike Leach, Rancho Cucamonga coach Nick Baiz tells CF.C. The duo already has multiple Pac-12 offers and both are approaching double-digit rides overall.

Both figure to be highly sought this recruiting cycle though WSU might have a particular "in" with Hawkins. He says broadcasting, long a nationally ranked major at Washington State, could be his chosen vocation.

"Biggest thing for me is academics," he told Scout.com. "I want to major in medicine or pre-law in college and I also have interest in broadcasting."
