Mike Leach offers California QB

IN TERMS OF ACCURACY, it's hard to argue with the numbers. Jared Goff (6-4, 190) threw for 44 TDs as a junior -- against just four interceptions. And yet he still has a big time arm, with his prep coach saying he can launch it 70 yards in the air. Mike Leach and Washington State became the second Pac-12 school to offer him.

Scout.com's Greg Biggins reported WSU extended the offer and says he can see why Mike Leach is interested in Goff.

Goff, out of Kentfield, Calif., shows up well on film and has a lot of "projectible" tools, says Biggins. He has good size and can get the ball down the field. He's also a basketball and baseball standout.

Cal offered him on Sunday.

Goff passed for 3,179 yards and 44 touchdowns for Marin Catholic, leading them to the North Coast Section Division III championship game before falling to Campolindo on a last-second field goal. He is the son of former Major League Baseball player Jerry Goff, who played baseball at Cal followed by six seasons as a catcher with the Expos, Pirates and Astros.
