However, Hill—the Washington State great—claims his injury occurred during pregame warm-ups in week 11. He could potentially file a grievance against the team, as a football-related injury label would have entitled him to severance pay.
The Cougar great originally signed with New York on Oct. 3 and caught a touchdown pass in his second game. However, the six-year veteran became expendable when the Jets activated receiver Clyde Gates from the disabled list. He was cut on Oct. 27, but re-signed on Nov. 6.
In all he appeared in three games for the Jets, catching two passes for 15 yards and one TD.
A third round draft pick by San Francisco in 2007, Hill started 10 games for Jacksonville last season—making 25 receptions and scoring three touchdowns—but was waived by the club late in the season despite leading all Jaguar receivers in yards-per-catch and touchdown catches. He was signed by Denver last spring, but was a late preseason cut.
