Cougs' Football Women's Clinic on April 13

IT'S A FOOTBALL EVENT and the men aren't invited. Washington State will hold its football women's clinic a week from Saturday. The April 13 gathering at Martin Stadium will run from 3-6:30 pm.

Mike Leach and staff will teach the football basics at the event, which will also feature appetizers and wine, beer, pop and water in the Martin Stadium Press Box Club/Loge Level.

Dress is casual, with the breakout sessions and drills on the Martin Stadium turf.

Pre-registration is required and payment is due by April 9. The cost is $50. Must be 21 years of age to attend.

THIS SATURDAY, April 6, will see the Cougs hold their first official scrimmage of the spring.

The 110-play scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in Martin Stadium.

ON SUNDAY in Pullman, Strikes for Steve, a fund-raising bowling tournament for Team Gleason, will be held at Zeppo's.

Team Gleason raises funds to fight ALS, the disease that has inflicted former Washington State football star and New Orleans Saints icon Steve Gleason. There is no known cure. The cost is $25 for individuals or $60 for teams of three.

A "celebrity" bowler will join each team. The tournament runs from noon-5 p.m. To register, go to
