BREAKING: Cougs land Florida burner

MIKE LEACH has scored his second known verbal commitment out of the state of Florida. And it didn't take long for the inside receiver to decide. After being offered last week by WSU outside linebackers coach and area recruiter Paul Volvero, the Saint Petersburg product made the decision this morning to commit and became the Cougs' fifth known verbal for the class of 2014.

Keith Harrington (5-8, 165) is Wazzu-bound.

"Yes sir, I just committed to Washington State," Harrington texted CF.C moments ago.

In addition to Washington State, Harrington held offers from Arizona, Indiana, Wake Forest, UMass, Ball State and South Alabama.

A week ago, Harrington told CF.C he was very interested in the Cougs but didn't have a leader. Oh how fast things can change in recruiting.

AS A JUNIOR at Northeast this past season, Harrington combined for 1,372 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged a very healthy 10.5 yards per carry and nearly 17.0 yards per reception.

"Washington State wants to give me the ball in space and let me fly on the field," Harrington said. "The coaches told me they really like my speed and my hands."

Harrington is currently classified as a running back by but he'll be an inside wide receiver at Washington State.

WHY COUGAR FANS should be excited by Harrington? He's great in space, very explosive and is incredibly good at making the first guy miss. He's an exceptional fit for the Air Raid offense at Washington State.

Harrington becomes the fifth known commit in the Cougars' 2014 class, joining WR Zaire Andre, LB Greg Hoyd, NT/DE Marcus Griffin and QB Peyton Bender (with Bender also hailing from Florida).

The 5-8, 165-pounder was busy with school and didn't have time for more than some quick texting at press time but said he'll contact CF.C later for a more in-depth interview at which time we'll bring you more of his comments.
