No letdown here: Cougs blow out Southern Utah

CONNOR HALLIDAY THREW to 10 different receivers and racked up five touchdowns in as Washington State (2-1) hung a 48-10 win on Southern Utah. The Cougar D was hot and cold in the early going but before too long, they were only running hot, holding SUU to 219 total yards on offense and picking off three passes.

And Damante Horton did it again.

The senior cornerback took an interception back 72 yards to the house to put the Cougs up 28-10 headed into halftime. Horton had a 70-yard pick-six just before halftime of last week's win over Southern Cal.

Daquawn Brown and Deone Bucannon also had interceptions. A Kache Palacio pick-six was nullified by a penalty on Bucannon, who subsequently made his interception.

Connor Halliday was 32-for-41 for 383 yards. He threw TD paases to Dominique Williams (2), Isiah Myers, Game Marks and Vince Mayle. Williams had 101 yards on three grabs.

Halliday completed his first nine passes as WSU took a 14-0 lead. His lone miscue was an interception in the end zone but it looked like his receiver broke off his route when Halliday expected him to continue running the post. No matter, WSU would start rolling soon enough.

Southern Utah (2-1), an FCS program, was held scoreless by WSU in the second half.
