Future Cougars Report: Week 6

FUTURE COUG WR CALVIN GREEN is not used to losing league games – they don't do that at Burbank High. But the streak was in serious jeopardy this past Friday night. If there was ever a time for him to rack up some all-purpose yards, this was the game. And Green did not disappoint. Here's the rundown on how all the future Cougs did out on the gridiron…

WR Calvin Green; (5-10, 175); Burbank (Luther) High; Sacramento, Calif., Green had himself a field day in Burbank's 34-32 win over Sacramento, catching a 60-yard touchdown bomb, as well as providing the winning margin with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

LB Greg Hoyd; (6-2, 200); Vista Murrieta High; Vista Murrieta, Calif., Hoyd posted seven tackles and two tackles-for-loss in Vista Murrieta's 42-2 crushing of Crespi.

DT Marcus Griffin; (6-3, 292); Bellevue High; Bellevue: Griffin only played one half due to another mismatch but was busy once again, tallying three tackles, one sack as well as three QB hurries. Bellevue took down Juanita in a 38-14 rout.

WR Zaire Andre; (6-0, 170); Inglewood High, Inglewood, Calif., Andre had five catches for 80 yards and a punt return for a touchdown in Inglewood's 33-2 win over Torrance.

OT Jordan Rose; (6-6, 305); Freeman High; Rockford, Wash., Rose and Freeman throttled Riverside to the tune of a 34-0 win. Freeman is now 5-0 on the year.

CB Kevin Griffin; (6-1, 180); De La Salle High; Concord, Calif., Griffin's stats weren't available at press time, but the future crimson corner did have a blocked punt in De La Salle's 35-10 romp over Servite.

OT Braden Eggert; (6-7, 315); Napa High; Napa, Calif., Eggert and crew were idle this week. Napa is 3-2 on the season.

K Tristan Vizcaino; (6-2, 190); Damien High; La Verne, Calif., On a windy night, Vizcaino connected on his one of his two PATs and missed a 52-yard field goal attempt wide left. He did have two of his three kickoffs go for touchbacks in Damien's 27-13 loss to Los Alamitos.

CB Joseph Turner; (6-2, 190); College of San Mateo, San Mateo, Calif., Turner tallied three tackles in San Mateo's 42-14 win over San Joaquin Delta.

WR Keith Harrington; (5-8, 165); Northeast High; St Petersburg, Fla., Harrington and Northeast fell to Bod Anderson by a score of 22-14. Stats for Harrington were not available at press time. .

LB Frank Luvu; (6-1, 205); Tafuna High; Pago Pago, American Samoa: No information for Luvu and Tafuna was unavailable at press time.

OL Sean Krepsz; (6-5, 295); Martin Luther King High; Riverside, Calif., Looks like Krepsz is back to feeling fine after missing the second half the previous week with an apparent knee injury. Krepsz and King beat Ramona 35-6 -- Krepsz helped lead King to a gaudy night on the ground, tallying 365 rushing yards.

LB Chandler Leniu; (6-1, 225); St. John Bosco High; Bellflower, Calif., Leniu and St. John Bosco destroyed Crenshaw 75-35. Stats for Leniu were not available at press time though he entered the game averaging almost 13 tackles per contest. St. John Bosco is now 5-0.

Peyton Bender (6-1, 175); Cardinal Gibbons High; Fort Lauderdale: Bender was 18-for-23 for 228 yards and four touchdowns as Cardinal Gibbons took down Key West 63-20. On the season, Bender is 120-of-172 for 1,641 yards with 23 TDs against 3 INTs.
