Future Cougars Report: Week 12

WHEN IT COMES to tackling, Washington State may very well have one of the most accomplished prep athletes on the West Coast head toward the Palouse this fall. He posted another outrageous tally in his team's first playoff game. With the playoffs starting for many WSU verbal commits, take a look how each fared.

LB Chandler Leniu; (6-1, 225); St. John Bosco High; Bellflower, Calif., The man just tackles, tackles and tackles some more. Leniu posted 20 tackles, as well as one for a loss in St. John Bosco's 69-24 dismantling of Agoura. This was the first round of the CIF Southern Section Football Playoffs. Leniu sits at No. 37 for high school players in tackles – nationally -- this season according to MaxPreps.com

WR Calvin Green; (5-10, 175); Burbank (Luther) High; Sacramento, Calif. Green had another impressive outing this week as he ran for a 38-yard score, caught an 18-yard touchdown pass and had an interception in Burbank's 61-28 playoff win against Wood.

CB Joseph Turner; (6-2, 190); College of San Mateo, San Mateo, Calif., Turner recorded two tackles in San Mateo's 54-20 win over Santa Rosa.

DL Ngalu Tapa; (6-3, 275); Burbank (Luther) High; Sacramento, Calif. Stats for Tapa were unavailable in Burbank's aforementioned 61-28 win over Wood.

LB Frank Luvu; (6-1, 205); Tafuna High; Pago Pago, American Samoa: Luvu and undefeated Tafuna, ranked No. 1, had a bye for the first week of the playoffs, and Luvu and Tafuna "remain unanswered and unstoppable this season," says The Samoan News. They meet No. 4 seed Fagaitua this week, whom they beat Fagaitua 66 - 0 earlier this season.

WR Zaire Andre; (6-0, 170); Inglewood High, Inglewood, Calif., Andre and Inglewood did not make the playoffs this season. The team finished 4-6.

K Tristan Vizcaino; (6-2, 190); Damien High; La Verne, Calif., Vizcaino and Damien missed the playoffs this season with a 5-5 record. Unofficially, Vizcaino finished the season nine-of-12 on field goal attempts with a long of 40 yards. Vizcaino averaged close to 40 yards per punt and had 17 of his 32 kickoffs go for touchbacks.

LB Greg Hoyd; (6-2, 200); Vista Murrieta High; Vista Murrieta, Calif., Stats were not available for Hoyd in Vista Murrieta's 57-14 playoff win over Los Osos.

CB Kevin Griffin; (6-1, 180); De La Salle High; Concord, Calif., Griffin and De La Salle play their first playoff game against Granada on Friday.

WR Keith Harrington; (5-8, 165); Northeast High; St Petersburg, Fla., Harrington and Northeast did not qualify for the playoffs and finished the season at 1-9.

OL Sean Krepsz; (6-5, 295); Martin Luther King High; Riverside, Calif., Krepsz and King did not qualify for the playoffs this season and finished the year 6-4.

QB Peyton Bender (6-1, 175); Cardinal Gibbons High; Fort Lauderdale: Bender is out for the season with a broken collarbone. He finished the year 167 of 256 for 1,284 yards, with 28 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
