NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Fourteen

ALTHOUGH HE INSISTED it makes no difference who he's kicking against, one would assume Tampa Bay's Rian Lindell has to be smiling a little wider than usual after booting two field goals—including a 53-yarder—in the Bucs' win against his old team, the Buffalo Bills.

But more important to the CouGreat than showing up his old friends was ending the mini-slump he's been on. After missing just two three-pointers nine games into the season, Lindell had missed four over the past three games coming into Sunday.

In addition to being perfect on his two field goal attempts, he was also true on three extra-points. His 53-yarder tied his long for the season.

Here's how the NFL Cougs performed in week 14:

Husain Abdullah, CB, Kansas City, 5th season: No recorded stats from the Chiefs' 45-10 shellacking of Washington.

Jed Collins, FB, New Orleans, 5th season: Carried the ball once for no gain and caught one pass for 4 yards in the Saints' 31-13 defeat of Carolina.

Brandon Gibson, WR, Miami, 5th season: Did not play; out for the season on injured reserve due to a torn patella suffered in week 8.

Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets, 4th season: Rushed the ball 18 times for 76 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown run, in the Jets' 37-27 defeat of Oakland.

Rian Lindell, K, Tampa Bay, 14th season: The Vancouver native was perfect on three extra-point attempts and two field goal tries (long of 53) in the Bucs 27-7 win against Buffalo.

Travis Long, LB, Philadelphia, 1st year: Did not play; assigned to the Eagles' practice squad.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Tennessee, 5th season: The Tacoma native recorded two solo tackles and one QB hit in the Titans' 51-28 fall to Denver.

Jeff Tuel, QB, Buffalo, Rookie: Declared inactive for the Bills' 27-7 loss to Tampa Bay. Bills starting QB E.J. Manuel tossed four pics on the day.

Marquess Wilson, WR, Chicago, Rookie: No recorded stats from the Bears' 45-28 win against Dallas on Monday.
