SEASON OF HOPE RUINED IN FINAL 2:52

A GAME seemingly in hand from the start turned sour over the final, improbable 2:52 at the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday and Washington State's turnaround year suddenly wound up turning into a 10th-straight non-winning season for the Cougs and their much-starved faithful.

Colorado State scored 18 points in less than three minutes, including the game-winning field goal as time expired, to secure a 48-45 victory. The final 11 points were set up by WSU fumbles.
