Where do Cougs, CFB players come from?

IF YOU HAD to guess, which area produced more Cougars on the 2013 roster - Los Angeles or King County? What three counties in the state of Washington produced the most FBS college football players? Which U.S. geographic area would you say produces the most players per capita? What about the most heavily recruited metro area in the entire country?

A fantastic feature by Benn Stancil of MODE answers all of those questions and more.

  • Granted, there is no distinction made between scholarship and walk on players. But their research shows Los Angeles and King County were tied for the most players on the current WSU roster with 15 each.

  • King County produced the most college football players in the state with 153. The next closest is Pierce County, but with far less at 50, followed by Spokane County with 37.

  • South Florida produces the most players per capita for nearly every position, save for kickers and punters.

  • Los Angeles is the most heavily recruited metro area in the country.
