CougGals win again! On to the semifinals!

WASHINGTON STATE'S high-scoring women's basketball team pulled off a rousing upset of second-seeded California tonight in the second round of the Pac-12 tournament in Seattle. After pouring in 107 points in their opening-round win over Oregon, the CouGals nearly hit the century mark again, winning 91-83

The victory propels the Cougs to a semifinal game Saturday against the winner of the Oregon State-Utah game.

Four Cougars were in double figures, with Lia Galdeira leading the way with 28 points and 7 rebounds.

Senior Sage Romberg, with 16 points, joined the 1,000-point career scoring club at WSU.

"We imposed our will, we played hard, played scrappy," Cougar head coach June Daugherty told the Pac-12 Network.

The win was sweet redemption for the Cougs, who lost in overtime to the Bears in their last meeting.

CF.C's Howie Stalwick will be back later this evening with a full report from Key Arena.
