Leach: Snowballs or world peace?

THERE ARE THINGS that when done once, will get a football player at Washington State immediately booted from the team by Mike Leach. Throwing snowballs isn't one of them.

Mike Leach talked with Oregonian's John Canzano on his radio show and it's also apparent WR Robert Lewis and OL Sean Krepsz have each caught Leach's eye through three practices this spring. DL Emmitt Su'a-Kalio and cornerbacks Marcellus Pippins and Charleston White were also mentioned.

But Leach hates being asked who will play as a freshman.

"It's literally like a curse. We're talking great, talented players that for whatever reason, as soon as I think he's the one that's going to contribute first, the gods are determined to make me wrong."

Leach also says the Cougs are playing hard and trying hard this spring, but not always with precision. Still, he's been pleased with the three days of work so far.
