Four WSU pitchers combined to hold Washington's 1-2-3 hitters to a 1-for-14 night.
That will usually win you a lot of games.
In the sixth inning, the Huskies were threatening to break the game open with the sacks full, leading 4-3 and with only one away. Kellen Camus (4-0), came on in relief of starter Joe Pistorese and induced two weak grounders to keep the UW from building on their lead.
And it turned the game around.
The Cougars (18-20,8-8) fed off the momentum change, plating three the next inning keyed by Ian Sagdal's two-out single that drove in a pair. Camas got the win -- his 11th win in relief during his Washington State career, third in school history.
In the ninth, closer Ian Hamilton's slider was unhittable as he notched his conference-leading 11th save.
WSU, who had lost four straight coming in, had their rally caps on early against the Dawgs. UW jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second, only to see WSU respond with three of their own in the top half of the third, with Ben Roberts' two-run triple doing most of the damage.
The Cougs now have two chances to hand UW their first Pac-12 series loss this season if they can win either Saturday or Sunday.
Cougs' 6-4 win over Huskies easy as 1-2-3
