NEW SIGNEE: Leniu is headed to WSU after all

IT TURNS OUT four-star linebacker Chandler Leniu will be a Cougar. The Bellflower, Calif., prospect, who was committed to Washington State earlier this recruiting cycle, was granted his release from California, whom he signed with in February, and will suit up for the Cougars in 2014.

Chander Leniu is Pullman bound, Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman reported on Sunday morning.

"Chandler Leniu, the 4-star LB who just signed with #WSU, is eligible now because #Cal gave him his release, sources told @FOXSports," Feldman announced on his twitter page.

The 6-1, 230-pound Leniu was originally a long-time verbal to WSU, but decommitted from the Cougs and committed to Cal shortly after. Leniu held offers this recruiting cycle from WSU, Cal, TCU, Kansas, Nevada and a handful of others.

As a senior for St. John Bosco this season, Leniu recorded a mind boggling 238 total tackles (161 solo). He added 1.5 sacks and two interceptions.

We've got calls out to Leniu and hope to have more from the newest Coug soon.
