Hilinski makes it official, WSU-bound in Jan.

FUTURE COUGAR QUARTERBACK Tyler Hilinski told Cougfan.com that it became official while he was in Pullman this weekend. After graduating early from high school, he'll head up to WSU in January, enroll at WSU and get the earliest of early jumps on his Cougar career.

"When I was out there, I spoke with some academic advisors and went over my credits," Tyler Hilinski told CF.C. "I'm taking two online courses, so after my first semester at Upland (High), I'll be good to go to graduate early and head to Washington State for the spring semester in January.

"I spoke with Coach Leach about it and he was ecstatic. We had discussed the possibility before, but it didn't really become official until this weekend. He just wanted to make sure I had the credits to make it happen. With Tyler (Bruggman) transferring, they need another guy to come in next season and compete and I'm ready to do that."

Connor Halliday is a fifth-year senior this season. His back-up, Luke Falk, is a redshirt-freshman who has not yet taken a snap in a college game.

Also of note, Hilinski let me know that he and Kameron Powell will join friend Stanley "Scrappy" Norman on an official visit to Pullman on Oct. 4.
