NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Two

COUGAR GREAT Jed Collins scored his first touchdown of the season, a one-yard reception in Detroit’s tilt with Carolina on Sunday. Unfortunately for the Lions it was their only visit to the end zone against Carolina.

Another former Cougar hit paydirt, as running back Chris Ivory rushed for a four-yard TD against Green Bay, also in a losing effort.

Here’s how the NFL Cougs performed in week 2:

Husain Abdullah, S, Kansas City, 6th season: Recorded one tackle in the Chiefs’ 24-17 loss to Denver.

Deone Bucannon, S, Arizona, Rookie: Posted six tackles (5 solo) in the Cardinals’ 25-14 victory against the New York Giants.

Jed Collins, FB, Detroit, 5th season: Caught two passes for 3 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter of the Lions’24-7 loss to Carolina.

John Fullington, T, San Francisco, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the 49ers’ practice squad.

Brandon Gibson, WR, Miami, 6th season: The Puyallup native caught three passes for 27 yards in the Dolphins’ 29-10 loss to Buffalo.

Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets, 5th season: Rushed the ball 13 times for 43 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown run, in the Jets’ 31-24 fall to Green Bay. He also caught one pass for 3 yards.

Travis Long, LB, Philadelphia, 1st year: Did not play; on injured reserve.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Tennessee, 6th season: The Tacoma native tallied three tackles, including a sack, in the Titans’ 26-10 fall to Dallas.

Jeff Tuel, QB, Buffalo, 2nd season: Did not play; assigned to the Bills’ practice squad.

Marquess Wilson, WR, Chicago, 2nd season: Did not play; on injured reserve with a designation to return.
