NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Three

WITH HIS FOUR catches for 52 yards in the Jets’ Monday night loss to Chicago, running back Chris Ivory has equaled his personal best. His career-best, that is.

The former Coug now has five catches on the young season, which equals his career totals spanning the four previous seasons. His 55 receiving yards this season also tops his career totals coming in to the year by 13 yards.

Here’s how the NFL Cougs performed in week 3:

Husain Abdullah, S, Kansas City, 6th season: Recorded five solo tackles--and nabbed a Brandon Gibson jersey--in the Chiefs’ 34-15 shellacking of Miami.

Deone Bucannon, S, Arizona, Rookie: Notched two solo stops in the Cardinals’ 23-14 win against San Francisco.

Jed Collins, FB, Detroit, 5th season: Ran the ball once for two yards and tallied one tackle on special teams in the Lions’ 19-7 victory against Green Bay.

John Fullington, T, San Francisco, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the 49ers’ practice squad.

Brandon Gibson, WR, Miami, 6th season: The Puyallup native caught one pass for three yards and one Husain Abdullah jersey in the Dolphins’ 34-15 fall to Kansas City.

Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets, 5th season: Rushed the ball 10 times for 44 yards and caught four passes for 52 yards in the Jets’ 27-19 loss to Chicago on Monday.

Travis Long, LB, Philadelphia, 1st year: Did not play; on injured reserve.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Tennessee, 6th season: The Tacoma native assisted on one tackle in the Titans’ 33-7 sinking to Cincinnati.

Jeff Tuel, QB, Buffalo, 2nd season: Did not play; assigned to the Bills’ practice squad.

Marquess Wilson, WR, Chicago, 2nd season: Did not play; on injured reserve with a designation to return.
