Three-star Utah verbal ready for WSU visit

FOLLOWING THE THRILLING comeback victory over Utah last weekend, Mike Leach and WSU could add even more sting to the backs of Ute fans this coming weekend. The Cougs will host three-star Utah verbal commit George Wilson, who picked up his crimson offer late in the summer. Although the wideout says he's still committed to Utah, Wilson told CF.C he’s also very much ready to get to Pullman.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Wilson said. “I’m excited to get out there and see what they’re all about. They’ve been recruiting me for a while now.“

The 6-3, 185-pounder said he spoke with WSU assistant coach David Yost on Tuesday to confirm the trip.

“We spoke about the visit and just kind of locked everything up,” Wilson said. “They just want me to get my transcripts in and get everything ready for when I get there on Friday.”

THE THREE-STAR prospect tuned into the WSU-Utah game last Saturday.

“We were up on them, but they made a pretty good comeback,” Wilson said. “They’re (WSU) a pretty good team.”

And although he’s tripping to WSU this weekend, Wilson wanted to make it clear that he’s still thinking Utes.

“I’m still committed to Utah,” Wilson said. “I just want to see some other schools. As of right now, I’m still a Ute.”

THAT DOESN'T MEAN his interest in WSU isn’t high, though, he said.

“Their offense interests me,” Wilson said. “I’m a receiver and they throw the ball a lot. I like that.

“I want to go up there and see the environment and check out the campus. I’m looking forward to seeing the coaches. I went to a camp over the summer and met some of them. I’m excited to see them again and meet some of the players.”

In addition to WSU and Utah, Wilson also holds offers from San Jose State, UMass and Portland State.
