NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 11

HERALDED DURING THE off-season as an emerging weapon in Chicago’s offensive arsenal, the Bears were looking for a breakout season from Marquess Wilson as their number three receiver. Those plans fell through, however, when the former Washington State great fractured his clavicle on Aug. 4.

Wilson at long last made his season debut on Sunday, catching two passes for 11 yards. He was the target of Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler four times in their 21-13 defeat of Minnesota. Those two grabs equal his 2013 reception total.

Here’s how the rest of the NFL Cougs performed in week 11:

Husain Abdullah, S, Kansas City, 6th season: Posted five tackles (3 solo) in the Chiefs 24-20 win against Seattle.

Deone Bucannon, S, Arizona, Rookie: Tallied seven tackles (6 solo) on defense and another on special teams in the Cardinals’ 14-6 victory against Detroit.

Jed Collins, FB, Detroit, 5th season: Carried the ball twice for three yards in the Lions’ loss to Arizona.

John Fullington, T, San Francisco, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the 49ers’ practice squad.
