The Cougs signed Georgia CB Sean Harper on Feb. 5. He was unranked at the time but Scout.com’s Allen Trieu and Chad Simmons as part of the evaluation process took a look at his tape and assigned him three stars on Tuesday morning.
That pushed the Cougs’ national team ranking up two spots.
Harper will likely continue to show on the commit list as a WR but he’ll come to Washington State later this summer as a cornerback, one of six defensive backs in the 2015 class.
The Cougs still have one more to sign to get to the maximum 25 initial counters, so the ranking could still go up another spot or two. The signing period ends on April 1.
WSU football chief of staff Dave Emerick told CougFans in a CF.C chat on Signing Day that Mike Leach will sign one more player and use that final scholie for 2015 (rather than put it in the bank for use on a mid-year transfer next January to count back against the 2015 numbers).
