UNSTOPPABLE: Galdeira comes up huge for WSU

LIA GALDEIRA was the Pac-12's second-leading scorer this season but Thursday was just ridiculous. The junior guard splashed a career-high 34 points in Washington State's 64-62 win over Oregon in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament.

Galdeira's stat line against Oregon: 34 points, a team-high six rebounds, four assists and two steals. She shot 14-24 from the field, including 6-10 from 3-point land.

Tia Presley and Mariah Cooks were also in double figures, with 10-points apiece while Dawnyelle Awa dished out a team-high six assists.

Washington State was trailing by nine early in the second half but two things turned the tide: the CouGals ramped up their defense and Galdeira started hitting shots from all over the court. WSU, fueled by a pair of Galdeira treys, went on a 13-0 run to turn the deficit into a four-point lead. The Cougs never trailed again, though the game wasn't decided until the final buzzer.

We'll be back with more coverage from Seattle a little later ...
