WSU Recruiting: Leach offers another QB

THE WSU QUARTERBACK search is really starting to heat up, with Mike Leach and his staff continuing to search for the next Cougar signal caller. After offering Texas prospect Cody Brewer over the weekend, WSU sent another QB offer out on Monday, with Victor Viramontes landing a crimson tender.

Monday turned out to be a big day for Norco, Calif., quarterback Victor Viramontes. The 6-2, 215-pounder picked up his first scholarship, with the Cougs sending an offer his way, he announced on his Twitter page.

THE NEWEST QB OFFEREE to land a schollie from the Cougs is coming off a big junior season leading the Norco High offense. In 2014, Viramontes (pictured above) threw for 1,784 yards, with 18 touchdowns and only two interceptions, according to MaxPreps. But to say he's dual-threat would be an understatement.

In addition to his strong right arm, Viramontes showcased equally impressive wheels, rushing for 1,757 yards and 18 more scores. In eight of 12 starts last season, Viramontes rushed for at least 100 yards. In his highlight film, which can be seen below, you can see just how explosive of an athlete the California native is.

Viramontes joins Cody Brewer, Ian Book, Matt Fink and Devon Modster as uncommitted prospects who hold offers from Leach and WSU.
