BREAKING: Leach lands his quarterback

THREE-STAR quarterback prospect Ian Book out of El Dorado Hills, Calif. was thinking of making his decision sometime in May. But five days after his unofficial visit to Washington State, he made the call.

Book (6-0, 170) told's Brandon Huffman he called WSU area recruiter Graham Harrell who in turn handed the phone to Mike Leach.

"I committed to Washington State," said Book. "I called Washington State and committed and I'm really excited about it."

A pocket passer who can extend plays, Book was 155 of 248 for 2,025 yards with 18 TDs and seven interceptions as a junior. As a sophomore, he passed for 2,558 yards and 31 touchdowns against only five interceptions.
