Cougfan TV: Leach won't announce QB till fall

PULLMAN -- Washington State coach Mike Leach won't be naming a starting quarterback anytime soon. And he certainly hasn't indicated if he favors third-year sophomore Luke Falk or redshirt freshman Peyton Bender after 11 spring practices. Not with the way both have managed the offense while locked in a tight competition to become the next passer in Leach's Air Raid attack.

Following Saturday's scrimmage, Leach was asked if he'd like to have a starter emerge by the end of spring.

"No, never," he said.

So when might he decide who will succeed the record-setting Connor Halliday?

"Towards, the end of camp, the middle of fall camp," he said.

Leach also discussed Falk and Bender's performance in Saturday's scrimmage, the steadily improving secondary and much more in the latest installment of Cougfan TV.
