Mayock likes NFL prospects of Cougs

MIKE MAYOCK OF NFL Network is one of the keenest eyes of professional football talent out there, and he's not shy to give an opinion. On Thursday, one week before the draft, we asked Mayock talked about the draft possibilities of Washington State's three prospects, wide receiver Vince Mayle, defensive tackle Xavier Cooper and quarterback Connor Halliday.

Mayock believes all three will hear their names during the three-day NFL draft period.

Here are Mayock's thoughts on Mayle, Cooper and Halliday:

"I kind of like a couple of those guys. Mayle, to me, is an under-appreciated wide receiver. He had some drops against USC. But If you watch his Arizona State tape, I forget, he had 14, 15, 16 catches against Arizona State, even though he ran poorly at the Combine, think it was 4.67, what I saw on tape was a big physical wideout who got off the press naturally with his hands. I think he's under appreciated, undervalued. Probably going to go somewhere in the fifth or sixth round, but for me, he's worth a fourth-round pick. He's got some upside.

"Xavier Cooper is a similar conversation. I like that kid. He's got great vision for a defensive lineman. I like him probably higher than a lot of the league. I've got him with a late third-round grade. He's probably going to go in the fourth round."

"The quarterback, I felt badly watching his tape. He's so skinny, he's got to run around in the shower to get wet. He was getting tattooed game after game, but he throws with some anticipation and timing. He's got some length and size to him. He's got to hasten the process, but he's one of those prototypical NFL-type quarterbacks. He could get drafted late and be a developmental guy."
