WSU Recruiting Notebook: A rare JUCO theme

MIKE LEACH is judicious when it comes to offering junior college players. But in recent days he's extended full rides to four JUCO prospects, doubling the number of known Washington State junior college offers. The quartet of scholies went to a defensive end, a pair of linebackers and a sought offensive tackle prospect.

OT Garett Bolles (6-6, 295, pictured above) out of Snow College in Utah is a four-star prospect who verbally committed to BYU back in November.

Also out of Snow and also receiving a recent WSU scholie offer is LB Kurtis Taufa (6-2, 231).

DE Mat Boesen (6-4, 245) spent last season at Boise State. He's now at Long Beach CC and picked up a recent WSU offer.

And LB David Luafatasaga (6-4, 225) out of Arizona Western JC, looking around after pledging Ole Miss, is the fourth JUCO prospect to have received a recent offer from Leach.

On the prep side, there are a half dozen prospects who landed recent offers from Washington State.

CB Lawrence White (6-2, 170) Bakersfield, Calif., Ridgeview High

WR Keoni-Kordell Makekau (5-11, 170) out of Honolulu, Hawaii., Iolani High

OL Ezra Cleveland (6-6, 270) from Spanaway’s Bethel High

CB Camryn Bynum (5-11, 175) out of Corona, Calif., Centennial High

RB Deon McIntosh (5-11, 170) out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Cardinal Gibbons High, the same high school as Cougar QB Peyton Bender.

CB Jalen Thompson (5-11, 175) out of Downey High in California.

WSU assistants are out on the recruiting trail for the spring evaluation period - this is Dave Yost's ride in Spokane today:
